Getting big!

Well.....time is flying by, and yet at the same time, it's hard to remember our lives before our amazingly sweet boy came to our family.  I missed month four update so here it goes: 

At his 4month check-up he weighed 11 lbs 13oz (5th percentile), 25 1/4 inches long (a little over 50th percentile).

Don't mind the pile of clean laundry baby is posing on--at least it's clean.

This outfit has been retired---it was one of my favorites because it showed off his skinny bod but I decided it might be time to call it quits when daddy started calling him "Vector"

He likes to help his daddy on Fridays by holding his own bottle

Today is his 5month birthday and today he weighs 13 lbs 1oz. So he is growing over a pound each month but is still a lightweight for his height and age.

"Yes, I know I am cute."

"Mommy gets to stay home with me today!"

 He rolled from tummy to back first but now pretty much only does back to tummy
He loves his stuffed elephant and sometimes cries when you take it away from him.  This morning when we were riding in the car to the doctor he started crying.  We were just down the road from the house so pulled over to check on him and found his elephant at his feet--just out of reach.  I put it in his hands and he was good to go again.  He just hangs onto it so tight, when he drops it we lower him down to it and he picks it up, he chews on it--it became his absolute favorite over night a week or two ago.

When he gets really mad, his eyelids and eyebrows get VERY red and his forehead splotchy red.

He likes to hold his own bottles

He is still doing well with eating rice cereal.

He has the most AMAZINGLY CUTE and........AMAZING laugh.  I think it is the most perfect sound in the world to hear him giggle.

He is extremely ticklish---his neck, his armpits, his legs, his sides---very ticklish

He seems to be losing some hair but my mom is convined that some new growth is coming in in the thinner areas

His cousins love to check him out, hold him, give him hugs, etc.  Kira gets very excited around him and loves being close to him

He has been getting very nosey.  When he is eating and hears a familiar voice, he cranks his head back to see who it is (This happens a lot with his great-grandpa from what I hear)

He usually sleeps the first few hours at night in his own bed and then wants to eat at which point I bring him into bed with me.

He has been pooping around 4 days a week, which seems like a weird thing to make note of except that it used to be like once a week with grumpy tummy days in between

He went to his first concert with Jeber---The Duttons on the Visitor's Center lawn.  He did great.

He came for the first time to watch mom conduct her orchestra concert.  He went up on stage with me so I could show him off to everyone and then sat with abuelita and abuelito through the hour and a half concert and was an angel through the whole thing.  He listened and waved his arms around.

He is now fitting into 3-6 month clothing well and we have been retiring some of his 0-3 month clothes.

He does great with strangers holding him and is a great big flirt.  He loves to smile at people who talk to him at church, in the store and loves looking at other babies.

He likes riding in the car and no longer cries at all of the red lights, even when he is tired.

He is really good at holding onto and pulling hair.

He has started playing in the bath--kicking his legs and splashing, putting his hand under the spray faucet thing, etc.

He loves to watch his own hands.  He moves them all around and just watches.

He loves to have his feet stretched up to his face.  He will suck on his toes and pull his leg up to his mouth
He doesn't like to be in the sun or to have it or any light in his eyes.

He hangs out with daddy at church.  Jeber always takes care of him during sacrament meeting and the only time I have ever held him during that meeting is when Jeber was passing the sacrament or bearing his testimony.  If I am not feeding him, then Jeber usually takes him to Sunday school as well.

He is a very stinky tooter

He likes to go to sleep with music on in the background and being rocked or swung.

He loves to hold onto and turn the pages of the books that mommy and abuelita read to him

People often stop us or my mom to ask if he is a boy or girl--they cant tell because he is so beautiful. 

He likes to play at abuelitos house when mom and dad go to the temple

This past week he started putting himself to sleep on his tummy in the bed at his abuelitas house.  SHe would put him on his back in there to go make a bottle for him and when she came back he was on his tummy asleep--he has NEVER done that for me.  She must tire him out from playing hard.
