After playing in the dirt, we got a little bit cleaned up and went to Mark and Rachel's house to crash a little family barbeque they were having. After eating, handsome played with their
This is our ghetto chicken coop. The chickens have been giving lots of eggs.
THe rest of the month was filled with:
--- playing in the rainstorms

---trying to play at the park (it's pretty ridiculous that by 10:30 the slides are already too hot to slide down. Handsome only liked going down the slides if I went with him.)

---Swimming in the backyard
---Taking naps (when I can get him to. I usually have to take him for a walk or for a ride in the car to get him to sleep)
---Looking handsome and old for church (might be time for a haircut)

---Playing with toys that were mom's when she was little
I LOVE how he likes to line things up. And the people's heads have to be facing the right direction.

---Eating breakfast in bed while watching a show--just because
---Getting a haircut that makes him look older
---Riding the tiger on the carousel at the mall.
---Being imaginative and driving our cars down the slide and then into the long tube
---PLaying in the rain some more!
He LOVED being out in the rain and was upset when we brought him in. A couple of times he laid down on his tummy and tried to drink the water running down the side of the street
Mix in some doctor's appointments with my OB, some trips to the mall, some playing at grandma's, some swimming in grandma's pool, some meeting Jeber at work for lunch and to play in the playground he was working at, and there you have July. It went by WAY TOO QUICK!
Oh! We also celebrated Jeber's birthday. I, of course, have absolutely no pictures from the day. Jeber went in to work early in the morning like usual. Handsome and I got up and got ready for a check-up with my OB. We learned that I was 2cm dilated and 0% effaced, so my body was at least doing a little something. Handsome fell asleep on the way home so when we got home I put him into bed for a nap. I was just getting ready to start making a cake, decorate the house, etc. when Jeber walked in the door---around noon. I was very surprised and totally unprepared! He had decided to leave work early in honor of his birthday-something he had never done before. We hung out for a few minutes, I tried to think of what we could do to celebrate, took like a five minute nap, Jeber showered, and then waited for handsome to awaken.
WHen he did, we loaded into the car and headed for the mall to look for things for Princess and Handsome. Our shopping pretty much consisted of me walking into stores and seeing absolutely nothing that I even remotely liked or nothing that I would even remotely consider spending that much money on, while Jeber chased little one as he ran around. We let handsome play in the kids' play area, Jeber bought himself a belt, and then we decided we were done.
We drove across the street to eat at PF Changs. THey sat us in a booth next to a couple who were in their thirties. As soon as we sat down, the man started giving us dirty looks. The longer we sat there, the more impatient handsome was becoming (just being a typical little boy), the more dirty looks we got from the man. When the waiter came to take the order of the couple, handsome happened to throw a crayon and hit the man in the head. Oh dear! You would have thought the world had just ended. The man stood right up, threw on his hat, and angrily said "Can we move over there?" and motioned to the opposite side of the restaurant. I started voicing apologies, the lady with him was smiling and saying it was alright and as they walked away, handsome called out in his cute little voice, "Sorry!" Cute kid is used to getting a lot of attention from strangers and I guess when he wasn't getting it from the couple in the booth next to us he decided to take matters into his own hands (: ANyway, so that episode irritated Jeber, who sat their thinking about how he wanted to go say something to the man. Especially considering the fact that as soon as our food came, handsome sat there like a perfect angel and gobbled up his rice. Anyway, then we came home and all three of us (well, 3 1/2) cuddled on the bed while watching tv. Jeber didn't get a cake, the presents I had ordered him online hadn't come when they were supposed to so he had no presents to open, dinner was interesting, and we had come away from the mall with only a belt. Hopefully I can make next year better!
